About our Finance and Accounting courses

Qualitas Career Academy offers training courses from the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB).

 

The ICB is an 87-year-old Independent External Examination Body for Accredited Business Qualifications in Southern Africa.


They create pathways for students to obtain valuable business studies skills for employment that are endorsed by credible Business Qualifications.


As an appointed Quality Assurance Partner for QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations), the ICB is authorized to conduct examinations on a number of registered qualifications that are on the NQF (National Qualifications Framework).


As an ICB training provider Qualitas Career Academy is an accredited college registered with the Department of Education and Higher Training (DHET).


ICB courses include accounting and bookkeeping courses as well as business management courses.

Certification

Once a student has passed all subjects in a qualification, the qualification is awarded by the ICB and FASSET.


Further, because these are accredited skills programmes, you will earn credits towards accredited qualifications registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
The ICB have successfully graduated more than 25 000 students over the last 5 years!

Employment options

Many companies hire a bookkeeper / somebody for the accounts division simply on the basis of their ability to understand basic bookkeeping and keep all records in order on PASTEL.  Qualitas recommends this programme and this particular version of the software for the following people:

 

  • Bookkeepers / people wishing to gain employment in the field of accounting

  • Those studying in the field of accounting, or who are studying a certificate / diploma course in the financial field

Admission requirements

Grade 12 (Std 10) or equivalent (for some qualifications Grade 10 / 11 will be considered).
 

You must be at least 16 years of age.
 

No prior accounting knowledge needed.
